Infants: 6 weeks to 18 months
In our infant program, we recognize how critical the early months of life are. We respect the amazing capabilities of each infant while also recognizing their vulnerability and need for nurturing care. Our goal is to support each infant to feel secure and gain trust through predictable routines and consistent caregivers. Each baby’s routine for eating and sleeping is determined by his or her individual needs, rather than by the needs of the group.
Freedom of Movement is an aspect of the respectful approach to learning we have implemented in our infant rooms. Babies need to be able to move freely so are not placed in equipment like swings, bouncy seats, and exer-saucers that restricts their ability to move. Freedom to move helps your baby gain control of their bodies through tummy time, rolling over, sitting up, pull ing to stand, and taking their first steps, all when they are ready. Our caregivers hold, nurture, and encourage your infant through all these steps.
